Abisai BonOv
Born in 1996 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, the country of eternal spring, Abisai BonOv is the second oldest of three siblings. After his parents separated when he was around seven years old, Abisai, his brother, and his sister were raised by their mother.
Parts of his childhood were spent in San Lucas Sacatepéquez, near the famous Antigua Guatemala. San Lucas is a picturesque town located in the central highlands of Guatemala. Known for its cool climate and scenic landscapes, it boasts lush greenery and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The town is famous for its bustling markets, traditional crafts, and delicious cuisine, including locally grown produce. San Lucas combines a rich cultural heritage with a tranquil, rural atmosphere, making it a charming and inviting destination.
When Abisai was seventeen, his mother brought him and his siblings to Rhode Island, United States. She had high hopes for their new life but, unprepared for the challenges they faced, she decided to return to Guatemala to try and recover their old life.
The Author
Abisai and his siblings stayed behind. Other family members provided their small home in Rhode Island and financial support. Despite these challenges, Abisai and his sister found work in the kitchen of Panera Bread in Massachusetts.
He successfully completed the General Education Development (GED) test to continue his academic journey. During his years of working and studying, he actively wrote and worked on his dreams of becoming an author and publishing his first book. After some time, his mother moved back to the country, and Abisai and his family decided to start a new life in Texas. There, he demonstrated resilience by overcoming obstacles and creating a new life from the ground up.
Abisai dedicated his education to the science of linguistics, earning a Master’s Degree in the field. Additionally, he obtained a degree in Application Development and Graphic Design.
He joined the corporate world, which provided him with financial stability. However, he found passion in traveling and exploring new horizons. With the resources but not enough time to travel and pursue his true purpose in life, Abisai felt consumed by work and a monotonous life. Feeling trapped and unable to become his highest self, he decided to trust himself, take action, and leave his job for good in 2022.
Abisai published and made his first professional short book sale (The Archetype, The Voice and The Dream) in December 2023. His profound love for art has significantly influenced his worldview and expanded his understanding of literature.
He is now living his true purpose and currently working on his magnum opus, a new saga, a series of fantastic tales set in a world created within dreams. This labor of love, which he has been working on since 2012, is set to be released in 2024.
